Pirkey Barber is pleased to announce the promotion of Emily Poole to the membership of the firm, effective January 1, 2023. Emily is a talented and experienced attorney who focuses on global trademark prosecution and enforcement.
Emily advises clients of all sizes, from startups to large corporations, on domestic and international clearance and registration, portfolio management and protection, and enforcing her client’s rights through international and domestic oppositions and negotiations.
Emily is involved in the national and local IP communities, including the Austin Intellectual Property Law Association (Austin IPLA) and INTA. This past year, Emily joined the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity’s class of Pathfinders. Emily is also a contributing editor of the treatise Corporate Counsel Solutions: Intellectual Property Management: Strategies and Tactics published by Matthew Bender.
Emily earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, magna cum laude, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Intellectual Property Law Bulletin and Technical Editor of the USF Law Review. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin.
