Pirkey Barber Adds Two New Associates, Emily Poole and Caitlin Costello

Pirkey Barber PLLC is pleased to announce that attorneys Emily Poole and Caitlin Costello have joined the firm as Associates.

Ms. Poole’s practice focuses on trademark, and copyright, and unfair competition law. She advises clients, from startups to large corporations, on domestic and international clearance and registration, portfolio management and protection, and trademark disputes, including before the USPTO. She joins Pirkey Barber from the San Francisco office of Owen, Wickersham & Erikson, P.C. where she practiced trademark and copyright law for four years.

Ms. Poole graduated magna cum laude from The University of San Francisco School of Law in 2014, where she was the Editor-in-Chief for the Intellectual Property Law Bulletin. She also served as a Technical Editor on the University of San Francisco Law Review.

Caitlin Costello earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was an Executive Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. Prior to law school, Ms. Costello received her Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, and then earned a Master of Arts in Art History from Tufts University in 2014. Ms. Costello is joining our Virginia office, and her practice will focus on trademark and copyright matters.

“We are fortunate to have two very talented young attorneys join Pirkey Barber,” said Managing Member Steve Meleen. “I’m confident that they will make great additions to our team and provide the high level of service that our clients expect.”

Founded in 2006, Pirkey Barber now has 25 attorneys, making it one of the largest trademark and copyright law firms in the United States.
