Paul Famiglietti is a trademark and brand enforcement attorney who represents global market leaders and emerging companies across technology, software, life sciences, healthcare, and other innovation-driven industries. He advises clients across the brand lifecycle—from name development and international clearance to registration, portfolio management, and enforcement. Paul also counsels on IP issues in commercial transactions, due diligence, and agreements involving brand rights and content.
Paul has worked with some of the world’s most valuable and widely recognized brands, as well as the next wave of entrepreneurs and builders bringing ideas to market. He has particular experience in fast-evolving and regulated industries, helping clients navigate complex IP risks involving AI, software and hardware systems, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical devices.
In disputes, Paul has helped clients achieve strong, decisive wins in infringement claims, cease-and-desist matters, trademark oppositions and cancellation actions, and domain name disputes. And in settling conflicts, he guides clients toward focused, efficient agreements that minimize litigation risk and keep business goals front and center.
Paul’s transactional experience includes negotiating favorable trademark licenses and assignments, conducting global brand audits, advising on co-branding and marketing partnerships, and leading IP due diligence in financings, strategic transactions, and IPOs.
Paul is active in the IP community and serves on the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) SME Resources Committee and is a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association’s (IPO) Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology Issues Committee.
Paul earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and holds a B.A. from UCLA.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys time with his family, mountain and road cycling, and playing the drums.
